Privacy policy

The short version

You can read and listen to everything on this site without an account. We don't use ads, tracking pixels, or tools that follow you across the web. We never sell or share your information.

What we collect

• When you visit: anonymous visit counts (which pages are read, from which province), through a privacy-first tool that uses no cookies and can't identify you.
• When you donate: your name, email, address, and donation amount, so we can process your gift and send receipts. Payment is handled by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
• When you sign up for our newsletter: your email address and language preference.
• When you share your story or write to us: what you choose to send. Stories are never published without your written consent.

What we don't collect

We don't track what you read back to you personally, and we don't build profiles. We don't ask about your health, and our site has no quizzes that record answers.

Where your information is kept

Your information is stored on servers located in Canada, protected by encryption and restricted access. Only the people who need it to do their job can see it.

How long we keep it

Donation records are kept for as long as Canadian tax law requires. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe. Stories and messages are kept for as long as needed to respond, or as long as you've agreed to let us publish.

Your rights

You can ask to see, correct, or delete the information we hold about you, or withdraw your consent at any time. Write to our privacy officer and we'll answer within 30 days.
